Reed Accountancy are seeking an immediately available Finance Assistant, to join our industry leading client's expanding team on a 3-montht contract basis. This role sits within a friendly, high performing team with a dynamic working environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Compile journals for labour distribution, accruals, pre-payments, and fixed assets for end-of-month reports.
• Assist in producing monthly management accounts and support the Financial Controller with external payroll.
• Prepare, reconcile, and submit quarterly VAT and EU Sales List returns.
• Handle the preparation and submission of returns and information to regulatory bodies.
• Manage timesheets in Replicon, including amendments related to staff changes and new or revised projects.
• Review and authorize bank payments prepared by other department members.
• Cover for the Financial Controller in their absence.
• Prepare monthly invoices for clients and inter-company transactions.
• Track payments to sites, pharmacies, and regulatory bodies for each clinical trial, including raising invoices to sponsors.
• Manage bank transfers for payments outside the UK and perform bank reconciliations.
• Handle accounts payable, including listing, checking invoices and expenses, and entering them into the accounts system.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• At least 5 years’ experience in an accounts environment.
• Essential experience with Sage 50.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Good working knowledge of accounting and payroll packages.
