Copello is recruiting a Surveillance Systems Engineer to join a Defence Services business that specialises in air traffic management systems.

This role would see you supporting radar systems across the UK. You will be providing system design and asset expertise to the assigned partition of the engineering system whilst assuring the equipment level performance meets its design and fit for purpose concerning safety and integrity.

Responsibilities will include:

* Monitoring equipment with respect to obsolescence.

* Liaising with suppliers on the technical design of equipment.

* Setting policies and procedures alongside monitoring and amending other documentation.

* Advising and assisting the Engineering Service Authority in discharging their safety accountability.

* Equipment performance monitoring to support the safety thread and integrity of each Technical and Engineering Service.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

* Experience in an air traffic management environment or similar regulated environment.

* A high degree of commitment and appreciation for designing and supporting operationally critical systems.

* An ability to describe technical problems and information in a manner which can be understood by a non-technical audience.

* The ability to work in a safety related industry.

* (Desirable) Knowledge of international standards for ATM equipment, e.g. Eurocae Directives, ICAO Annex 10 Aeronautical Telecommunications, Eurocontrol Specification for ATM Surveillance System Performance.

The salary on offer is £50-£60K (DoE) + benefits. This role requires regular travel across the UK but there is a mileage allowance and a company car available
