We are currently recruiting on behalf of our prestigious client in the Accrington are for a Night Shift Bakery Manager.

Main Purpose of the job

To produce safe and legal products for all our clients customers, to be customer focused and strive to produce the best quality products achievable on a daily basis. Strive to complete all orders in full and on time, practise lean manufacturing techniques. Drive production, run the production efficiently, identify weak areas and implement improvements to make your team and production process better, stronger and more efficient.

Ensure all staff are working in a safe environment, H&S practises are taken seriously, and best practise are adhered to where appropriate.

Responsible to: Operation Director

Overall Tasks:

* Take full ownership of your shift and your team.

* Focus on how you can achieve the production plan for every shift.

* Full responsibility for overseeing the production of every shift, ensuring targets are met and your shift is running efficiently and effectively.

* Ensuring adherence to production plans- Help with planning of weekly production schedules/plan. Liaise with day shift production manager and Operations Director where changes are required.

* Working with the engineer department to ensure all equipment/ plant are running safely and effectively.

* Optimise resources, control staffing level to agreed levels with your Operations Director, to ensure all production is completed on daily basis,

* Proactively manage your staff ensuring you have the trained operatives to performance all relevant tasks. Ensure you have a plan in place to ensure you have continuous cover for all roles and are working towards multi skilled team.

* Manage your supervisor and team leaders to ensure they are delivering on all aspects of their roles efficiently.

* KPI- measure your shifts performance against set and agreed KPI.

* Generate the daily paperwork that is required for the effective running of shift.

* Ensure compliance and accuracy of all paperwork from your team to give correct information to all departments.

* Making sure all product are produced in line with agreed customer specifications.

* Ensure Health & Safety guidelines are followed. Ensure that all your staff are working safely and we provided a safe environment for them to work in. Drive and implement changes to improve practises to reduce any H&S risk, accidents and near misses to any personnel.

* Continuous improvement- look at ways on how we could improve our process that would contribute to improved efficiencies.

* Identify bottlenecks or weak areas within our process, drive and implement improvement plan to address these issues, generate a justification plan that incorporates the costs, pay back and benefits to business.

* Identify any training requirements for your team. Organise and plan required training where appropriate.

* Annual Staff appraisal - targets set and reviewed for your team and ensure it is being cascaded down.

* Daily meetings with your team to discuss key areas of business and day to day running of the business.

* Help training officer to improve our SOP for all production operations, work with training officer to free staff up so training can be carried out.

* Keeping your team motivated and focused on Company vision and goals- Constantly striving to promote and achieve the company targets and goals

* Work with your team to implement changes, ensure company procedures and policies are followed. Liaise with all departments on best practise, ideas, issues and suggestions.

* Track any down time- strive to reduce down time by implementing changes and best practise

* Use your teams for ideas on improvements.

OTHER AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance to GMP, QMS, 5'S and general housekeeping practises

Orchestrate Teamwork amongst all staff

Staff issues and Disciplines where necessary

Probationary Reviews

Staff performance reviews where applicable

RTW interviews

HACCP - Critical Control Points are adhered too, any failures are action correctly and all Haccp and food safety procedures followed and adhered too.

Ensure agencies are carrying out appropriate Inductions and to induct any new staff when required

To carry out other reasonable requests from your Operations Director.

£45,000 per annum

Pension Contribution upto 8%

4 x Salary - Death in service

There may be the odd occasion you will be required to come in earlier for Production Meetings/Training
