Service Care Solutions is working alongside a dynamic local authority, based in Berkshire, which is in need of a principal contracts lawyer to join their commercial team. In this role you will provide strategic leadership and manage high-performing legal professionals.

The role can pay a competitive rate of £65-£70ph umbrella. The rate offered will be based on experience and interview performance. This is a hybrid contract and will operate on a three-month rolling basis.

Key Responsibilities Of The Principal Contracts Lawyer Role:

Provide expert legal advice on commercial contracts, procurement, IT, technology, construction, information management, grant agreements, JCT and NEC contracts.
Navigate public sector frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
Offer strategic legal counsel whilst sitting on and advising various boards within the Council.
Lead a team of senior lawyers, lawyers, and paralegals; ensuring the effective allocation and management of legal work.Ideal Candidate:

A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with 5+ years of PQE in contract and procurement law within the public sector.
Proven leadership skills with experience of managing legal professionals at all levels.
