Train Discharge Car Driver

About the role

This is an exciting time to be joining our team based in Southampton and being involved in supporting the port activities as car driver. You will be required to assist with the discharge of vehicles from a car transporter freight train within Southampton Docks.

This is a flexible opportunity and you may be requested to work day, evening and weekend shifts depending on the schedule of the trains and volumes of cars expected.

Your daily responsibilities will consist of:

Discharging vehicles from car transporter freight train

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

Be at least 21 years old and have a held full manual driving licence for 12 months.

Must be a safe and confident driver

Be comfortable using fixed ladders to ascend the outside of train

Excellent communication skills.

Successful candidates will be expected to attend Health and Safety Induction and complete an assessment for train discharge. You will be subject to Identification checks, referencing and DVLA checks.

Competitive payment of £13.45 per hour weekdays and £15.13 per hour weekends and bank holidays, inclusive of paid annual leave accrual.
