Accountant - Motor Industry
Salary: £60,000 + Company Benefits (including a Company Car)
Location: Exeter
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established automotive business, for an experienced Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with motor industry experience to take on a key role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in line with regulatory requirements.

* Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

* Utilise accounting software such as Kerridge, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.

* Conduct financial audits to ensure accuracy and adherence to internal policies.

* Assist with budget preparation and forecasting, providing insights on variances and trends.

* Work closely with other departments, offering financial guidance and supporting strategic business decisions.

* Mentor and support junior finance team members.

* Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

* Motor industry experience is essential, ideally within a franchised dealership.

* Previous experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.

* Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

* Proficiency in Kerridge is highly desirable.

* Excellent analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

* Relevant qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) are preferred but not essential.

* Previous experience mentoring or training staff is an advantage.
