To lead and manage product quality targets to ensure customer satisfaction at an optimized, controlled cost while supporting product and industrial process innovation, in compliance with applicable laws and regulation and Group policies by

* developing and maintaining an effective quality control system, reporting included, able to guarantee high level of standards for the delivered products in line with market requirements as well as in compliance with current regulations and the Quality Certification System in place at Padeswood Cement Works

* collaborating with the Environment Function in the use feasibility studies of alternative fuels and materials

* supporting the central cement team and the sales and marketing department in new initiatives regarding the development of specific services and/or product/application innovation projects, alternative fuels and materials.

Key accountabilities

Safety

As part of the site leadership team, responsible for actively promoting Health and Safety compliance as per the IMS within the department, to include but not limited to

* Promoting and leading a safe work environment at the plant

* To assure that laboratory practices meet all safety standards and laboratory personnel comply and support the safety programs.

Production Site Development

* Defining, initiating and implementing all documents for plant quality control system.

* Contributing to Capex/Improvement plan

Procurement

* Ensuring the definition of fuel and raw material specifications is correct to meet production and environmental permit requirements

* Verifying the quality control of fuel and raw material at the receipt.

Production

* Defining the specifications for quality of incoming raw materials and fuels, semi-finished and finished products, in term of testing procedures, test and analysis methods, technical equipment and tools checking and calibration methods of laboratory instruments.

* Maintain and update lab equipment calibration with adopted Quality System, and maintaining proper documentation.

* Ensuring product quality meets Sales and Marketing specifications prior to release for shipment to customers.

* Contributing in checking the compliance of products with both laws and technical standards and with company objectives, defining and suggesting any corrective measures deemed necessary.

* Ensuring the development and the maintenance of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001, etc.), deploying and ensuring its implementation at Padeswood.

Education/Qualification

* University degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering

* 5+ years of quality control experience in cement manufacturing, technical expertise in laboratory operations

* Cement quality technology and production process knowledge

* Knowledge of Quality system of certifications (ISO 9001)

* Ability to coordinate tasks, good reporting skills

* Excellent communication skills

* Good Level of English (written, read and spoken)
