Job description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator with a production background to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting and operating various machinery to ensure efficient production while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. You will also play a key role in gathering, maintaining, and analyzing technical data related to materials, tools, fixtures, and processes used, contributing to continuous improvement efforts. This position primary role is responsibility for preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks.

Hours will be on a bi weekly rota.  6am - 2pm and 2pm to 10pm Monday to Friday.

Salary £45K - Permanent Role.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate machines, ensuring correct tooling, fixtures, and materials are used according to production specifications.
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality standards are met.
Gather, record, and maintain detailed technical data on materials, tools, fixtures, and processes used in production.
Analyze data using statistical analysis methods.
Work closely with quality control teams to ensure all products meet required specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve any machine issues or process-related problems.
Ensure machines are properly calibrated and maintained to prevent downtime.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies, including safe handling of materials and machinery.
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience as a Machine Operator, or in a similar role.
Strong understanding of machine operations, tooling, and material handling.
Familiarity with manufacturing software and tools for data collection and process control.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other teams.
Relevant certifications or training in machining or manufacturing processes is a plus.
Must be physically fit, as there is heavy lifting (up to 25kg) involved.
