Salary: £35,000 - £37,500 per annum

To provide EHS assistance to the EHS Manager, provide effective and practical EHS support on site and to assist in establishing Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems on site.

  • Technical support, and development of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • Provide effective and practical Health and Safety advice, handling concerns and any remedial action, to ensure a safe workplace and compliance under the companies EHS Management System, Policy and Current Legislation.
  • Reporting to EHS Manager on the performance of the EHS Management system and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor the workplace to ensure that safe conditions are maintained, Safety and Environmental Procedures are always followed and where risks are identified or reported to you, ensure that they are rectified so far as reasonably practicable.
  • Provide effective and practical Health and Safety advice to ensure a safe workplace and compliance under the companies EHS Management System, Policy and Current Legislation.
  • Ensuring good co-operation and good working atmosphere within the areas of responsibility including good communication within his area of responsibility and to other departments and the EHS Manager
  • Responsible for preparation and monitoring of SOPs for EHS management systems, and updating as necessary, in line with current company strategy.
  • In collaboration with the EHS Manager, maintaining and identifying and promoting a suitable level of training for colleagues working within the area of responsibility and advising on EHS training requirements in other departments. Maintaining the EHS Training Matrix
  • Represent the Company and participate in local Health Safety and Environmental Groups, report issues and initiatives to the Site Manager.
  • Assist in Emergency Planning / Response and controlling of incidents on site, followed by accident/incident investigations.
  • Assist with the preparation and recording of Health and Safety and Risk Assessments and procedures on site, including COSHH assessments.
  • Corrective Actions Tracking Recorded and monitored.
  • Monitor, Co-ordinate, and Issue approved PPE for Site

Qualifications & Experience

  • Eexperience in the same or similar job role within an industrial chemical manufacturing environment (Pharmaceutical experience desirable)
  • NEBOSH Diploma / International Diploma / Level 6
  • IEMA Foundation Certificate or equivalent (Diploma, or equivalent, in either discipline desirable) Environmental.
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Requirements in High hazard industry.
  • Sound working knowledge of ISO Management Systems (14001, 45001)

Membership of relevant trade body (IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM or similar)
