Transport Admin
Are you an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual with a passion for transport planning? Our client, a busy haulage company based in Stockport, is looking for an Assistant Transport Planner to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of a varied fleet of vehicles.
Responsibilities:
Route planning to ensure efficient transportation of goods
Processing abnormal load movement orders with precision and accuracy
Liaising with drivers to manage their daily activities in compliance with the working time directive and working hours
Providing excellent customer service through effective communication via e-mail and telephone
Generating new sales leads, maximising backload opportunities using social media, e-mail, and telephone communication
Handling various administrative tasks such as processing PODs and orders
Requirements:
Strong understanding of vehicle types and capabilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in computer usage
Familiarity with system-based planning tools (ideally Roadrunner)
Strong administrative and customer service skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Good knowledge of the UK geography
Familiarity with the rules regarding the working time directive and driver's hours
CPC qualification would be an advantage
Working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm, with one Saturday morning required every three weeks 8am-12pm. Our client offers a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum.
