Project Buyer | Derby | 6 Months Fixed Term Contract | £37,000
Cherry Professional are looking for a Project Buyer on an initial 6 Month Fixed Term Contract. You will responsible for the placement of orders in accordance to schedules and requisitions to ensure on-time fulfilment of business needs.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for supplier selection giving consideration to Cost, Quality, Performance and Compliance
• Manage all necessary information / deliverables for Bills of Materials, Material requests and Material budgets in order to support the Business needs and Key Stakeholders
• Negotiate with suppliers and contractors on best price, mode of shipping and delivery lead-times during quotation process.
• Identify any potential supplier capacity constraints.
• Negotiate Savings / Cost Avoidance and maintain the Savings Tracker
• Order Parts on a continuing basis in order to maintain inventory levels / MRP
• Evaluate and develop the performance of the suppliers with supplier visits, face to face meetings, pro-active expediting and regular communications
• Review of overdue PO's and ensure general housekeeping is kept up to date
• Where suppliers are under performing or have supplied defective goods, raise NCR's
• Work together with other functions such as QHSE, Engineering, Projects, to ensure key stakeholders are informed and satisfied with Purchasing's deliverables. Teamwork is essential
• Provide flexible and responsive purchasing to meet stakeholders needs
• Compare costs and evaluate the quality and suitability of supplies, materials and equipment
• Management of all PO's from Source to Pay i.e. take ownership of PO's once placed and manage through to delivery and supplier invoice matching

Ideal Candidate:
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and MRP planning systems.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
• Ability to manage internal stakeholders working to tights deadlines
• Minimum of 2 years track record of buying raw materials, equipment, ideally working within manufacturing or engineering related environment.
• Ability to analyse and interpret technical specifications and project requirement
