Salary: £45000 - £55000/annum

We Build Recruitment are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor based near Luton.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of groundworks packages across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing company, delivering high-quality services from enabling works through to substructure and external works.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of groundwork projects from inception to completion

* Prepare, submit and negotiate interim valuations, final accounts, and variations

* Conduct cost planning and estimation throughout project lifecycle

* Monitor project budgets, reporting on profit/loss and identifying areas for cost saving

* Evaluate subcontractor quotations and manage procurement process

* Prepare and issue subcontractor orders, ensuring alignment with project scope and budget

* Ensure compliance with contractual conditions and risk management procedures

* Liaise with clients, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and cost control

* Attend site visits and progress meetings as required

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks or civil engineering sectors

* Strong understanding of groundwork operations including earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads and external works

* Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)

* Strong analytical and negotiation skills

* Proficient in MS Excel, project costing software, and other relevant tools

* Ability to work independently and as part of a project team

* Full UK driving licence
