Contract Type: 20 hours per week ( 5 mornings per week)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral HLTA to join a supportive team in a local primary school in Lancaster. This role is crucial in providing pastoral care to pupils, ensuring their emotional well-being, behaviour, and academic progress are supported effectively. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide pastoral support to students, addressing emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to promote well-being and resilience.
Support attendance, behaviour management, and safeguarding initiatives.
Act as a key contact for pupils experiencing challenges and liaise with families to provide support.
Deliver intervention sessions to promote positive mental health and emotional regulation.
Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour support plans.
Work collaboratively with teachers to identify pupils in need of additional pastoral care.
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, interventions, and safeguarding concerns.

Person Specification:

Experience working in a pastoral or HLTA role within a school setting.
A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Ability to manage behaviour positively and support pupils with emotional challenges.
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with young people.
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
