Putting residents at the heart of everything they do, our local authority client at Gravesham is looking for an ASB Neighbourhood Officer.
The successful applicant will be responsible for working with homes and estates in accordance with current legislation, tenancy obligations as well as policies and procedures to ensure a safe, pleasant and welcoming environment for all.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Committing and contributing to the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy. This is an essential requirement of the post.
* Reporting on an operational basis to managers within Neighbourhood Services teams, providing advice and assistance in dealing with anti-social behaviour to form part of the Council's approach to ASB.
* Developing an area of expertise within the field of anti-social behaviour whilst demonstrating a working knowledge of generic housing management processes.
* Working closely with colleagues to ensure cases of anti-social behaviour are recorded and investigated and that effective, appropriate action is taken.
* Reviewing the progress of cases and ensuring all appropriate ASB referrals are made.
* Working with Legal Services to ensure prompt and effective preparation of cases for Court.
* Advising, supporting and encouraging witnesses of anti-social behaviour to provide evidence at Court.
* Providing a professional witness service and attending Court as required.
* Contributing towards the development of strategies for dealing with anti-social behaviour.
* Drafting notices and ensuring they are served within required timescales.
* Drafting and serving Acceptable Behaviour Commitments.
* Contributing towards collecting of statistical information for monitoring purposes.
* Maintaining knowledge and skills in the legislation and best practice to tackling anti-social behaviour.
* Carrying out all duties and activities having regard to the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and in accordance with any instructions from senior members of staff under that Act or any Council or Departmental Codes of Practice or Procedures.
Qualification equivalent to CIH level 4 (or NQF Equivalent) in a Housing related subject.
