Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a joint venture working on the Hinkley Point C project in Bristol to recruit a Piping Design Engineer for its Bristol office.

The Piping Design Engineer is business critical and will play a pivotal role in contributing to the completion of the HPC design phase role comes with a salary ranging from £40,000 up to £65,000 depending on seniority, and experience.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Engineering Design Manager you will:

Ensure proper design of the pipe network and associated supports through piping calculations.
Perform piping flexibility calculations and piping support calculations.
Analyse the piping network's mechanical behaviour to the coded criteria.
Produce technical assessment notes.
Propose proportionate modifications to ensure sizing criteria are met.
Interfacing with European offices in order to participate in the set up of tools and methods and improvement of methodologies.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Education within Mechanical Engineering, Piping/Stress Engineering or relevant qualifications.

Personal skills

The Piping Design Engineer role would suit someone who is:

A Piping Design Engineer with 2 years experience working within design, calculations, and modelling.
Working within a regulated sector such as nuclear, pharmaceutical, water treatment, industrial manufacturing, oil and gas, etc.

Salary and benefits of the Piping Design Engineer role:

A salary of £40,000 - £65,000 depending on experience and seniority.
Hybrid working with 3 days a week in the office (Bristol)
An opportunity to travel internationally to European offices.
