Are you passionate about supporting young children and helping them develop positive behaviors and emotional skills? We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a focus on behavior support to join our primary school team in Stockport this January. About the Role
In this role, you'll work closely with students, particularly those needing extra behavior and emotional support. As a key part of our inclusion team, you'll help foster a safe, structured environment that encourages personal growth, resilience, and positive behavior choices. You'll also work with small groups and individuals to develop their social and emotional skills, creating a foundation for successful learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

Provide targeted behavior support to individual students and small groups, helping them develop positive strategies and social skills.
Assist the classroom teacher in managing behavior and reinforcing positive actions, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment.
Work closely with students who have additional social, emotional, and behavioral needs, including those with SEN.
Build supportive, trusting relationships with students to promote confidence, independence, and engagement.
Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to implement consistent behavior support strategies.
About You

Experience working with children in a behavior support or similar role is beneficial, but graduates with a strong interest in education and child development are welcome.
A patient, empathetic approach with a keen understanding of how to engage students and promote positive behavior.
Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive environment for all students.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
