This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the early education of children and gain valuable experience, prior to starting a teacher training opportunity in the future.Job Title:                          KS1 Graduate Teaching AssistantSchool Type:                   ‘Good’ 3 form-entry primary schoolPay:                                  £80 - £90 per dayContract:                          October 2024 – July 2025Location:                          Ward of Ladywood, BirminghamBrief:                                1:1 and small group support to KS1 childrenThe RoleAs a KS1 Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the teaching staff and pupils within the Key Stage 1 phase. Working closely with our experienced teachers, you will assist in creating engaging and stimulating lessons that cater to the needs of their young learners. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to children who may require additional assistance with their learning.
  • Assisting in the preparation of age-appropriate teaching materials and resources.
  • Supporting classroom management and promoting a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Encouraging the social and emotional development of our students through caring interactions and role modelling.
  • Assisting with the assessment of pupils' progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
The Candidate
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with young children and a commitment to their well-being and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Adaptability and a patient demeanour to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Previous experience working with children in any capacity is advantageous, but not mandatory.
