About our Client

Our client will be stepping into her 2nd year studding Digital Marketing at Oxford Brookes University from September. She has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user.

She has a great sense of humour and doesn’t take life too seriously. She enjoys watching Ice Hockey and Netflix whilst leading an active social life by meeting up with friends and family.

With a joyful and delightful persona, she is keen to experience the full University life, going to pubs, clubs and live music events.

As written by her ..

"I don’t take life too seriously and would like someone I can have a laugh with. I will always ask for your help if I need it so just assume if I don’t ask I’m ok. At times I will be quite happy to be by myself on my laptop or watching TV as long as I know you are nearby in case I need you to help me so I’m happy for you to go off and relax.

I would need my carer to assist me in most aspects of daily life such as getting dressed, preparing my food, showering and helping me when I’m out and about (e.g. shopping). In the week I attend classes independently as I do not need help in classes and campus is within walking distance from my house.

I can get tired quickly and may ask you to scribe for me when I’m working on long assignments. But most importantly I need you to be comfortable to come out and socialise with me and my friends, I especially enjoy going to concerts and theatre shows. I also go to watch ice hockey most Sundays in Oxford and I would need my carer to come with me and help me with anything I may need whilst I’m there. My speech is understandable but some people struggle when they first meet me so it is important for me to have someone who will be patient if I need to repeat myself a couple of times."
