The Business Planning Lead will report directly to the Corporate Director of Finance. In this role you will be responsible for the following;

• Engage with senior stakeholders and the Executive Leadership Team to manage an agile and iterative business planning process.
• Collaborate with the MaPS leadership community to define, iterate, draft, design, and produce the MaPS business plan.
• Oversee the business planning process, including any in-year review of KPIs.
• Lead the target-setting process for in-year and the next financial year’s KPIs.
• Work closely with the strategy team and budget holders to develop and refine the business plan.
• Engage and work with DWP colleagues outside of MaPS for planning purposes.
• Act as the organisational adviser on business plan deliverables, ensuring comprehension and alignment across all staff levels, up to and including Executive Directors.

You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;

• A proven track record of working closely with senior stakeholders, demonstrating sound and sensitive judgement.
• Experience within a central government environment or the wider public sector is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in providing planning-related data both internally and externally.
• Recognised as a trusted advisor, facilitating business planning decision-making for the CFO and ExCo.
• Experience in supporting an organisation to improve performance.
• Strong understanding regarding finances, formal qualifications are not required.
• Degree level education and/or qualification in Portfolio/Operational Management or equivalent experience.
