UKI Express Transport Ltd is a distinguished family-owned business with years of experience in the transportation industry. We are expanding our operations and are looking for an experienced Transport Planner with a can-do attitude to join our dynamic team.

About the Experienced Transport Planner role:

As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning our customers' collections and deliveries in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. You will ensure vehicle utilisation is maximised while meeting the company's requirements in a managed and safe environment.

Our Experienced Transport Planner duties and key responsibilities include:

  • Being responsible for running our fleet of vehicle and trailers
  • Maximising vehicle utilisation
  • Planning collections and deliveries to meet customer expectations and maintain compliance with driver’s hours legislation
  • Issuing drivers with clear instructions.
  • Maintaining our Traffic Management System fully and accurately.
  • Reacting to changing situations to accommodate additional business while maintaining service performance
  • Demonstrating a positive response to customer needs and requirements
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and sub-contractors
  • Laising with the transport manager regarding fleet maintenance.
  • Providing weekly Profit and loss reports to the management teams.

Our ideal Experienced Transport Planner will have the below skills and experience:

  • A people person who can effectively manage and motivate drivers
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to perform in an ever-changing and pressurised environment
  • Positive and customer-focused
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK, including journey times from collection to delivery destinations
  • Strong understanding of drivers’ hours and working time directives
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
