Cedar is seeking a Service Accountant to join a Local Authority in the South East on an interim basis. The postholder will work closely with budget holders, provide financial advice and assist the Group Accountant.

Rate: £325 - £400 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: South East

Contract Length: 3 months

Working Pattern: 2-3 days on site per week

Responsibilities

Collaborate with budget holders to set and monitor budgets and close accounts with clear audit trails.
Deliver professional financial advice, information and support across a range of service areas.
Ensure adherence with financial controls and identify solutions for emerging financial risks with management.
Mentor Accountancy Assistants within the service area.

Requirements

Fully qualified AAT or part-qualified CCAB.
Experience in a similar role within a Local Authority.
Experience of cost centre management and collaborating with budget holders
