Job Purpose
Working as part of a busy warehouse team, you will be responsible for all transportation of waste materials and the operation of recycling equipment in a safe manner, incoming and outgoing stock movements, ensuring that products are reliably tracked, stored and shipped on-time and in accordance with Good Distribution Practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Main Responsibilities & Duties
  • Loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
  • Driving a Lorry Between Romford and Brentwood
  • Operating waste recycling machinery such as compactor and baler in a safe manner
  • Able to be on their feet all day + carry out repetitive heavy lifting
  • Abiding by current road transport regulations and laws
  • Maintaining a safe and clean vehicle
  • Reporting of any vehicle defects to Management
  • Checking for damaged or missing items for onward storage in the warehouse
  • Keeping an accurate record of the stock on the ERP system (SAP)
  • Operating a forklift truck to move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely
  • Picking orders using a hand-held scanner and prepare for packing and onward distribution
  • To assist with stock control and inventory procedures to maximise availability and minimise waste
  • To ensure the safe and appropriate storage of medicines including environmental controls
  • Providing timely and accurate delivery of outputs
  • Maintain good knowledge of relevant governance, SOPs and ways of working
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of housekeeping and cleanliness in the area in compliance with Good Manufacturing (GMP) and Good Distribution (GDP) Practice

  • Maintain excellent support, communications and relationships with all departments
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and regulations
  • Where GxP data is generated, ensure that the principles of Data Integrity are adhered to
Requirements EssentialDesirable
Educational Level
  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) level
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year working within a warehouse environment
  • Experience of using a forklift truck
  • Experience of working within a process driven/structured environment
  • Experience of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience of using an ERP system such as SAP
  • Previous warehouse experience within a GMP environment
  • Experience of using SAP
Qualifications
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • C1 licence and CPC
  • Valid Forklift Licence (Reach truck and counterbalance)
  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in Warehousing and Distribution
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards required in a warehouse environment
  • A good understanding of manual handling practices
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Good working knowledge of GDP and GMP
  • Knowledge of modern warehouse practices and methods
