The Role of Freight Operations SupervisorAs a Freight Operations Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring service levels are met, and supporting a high-performing team. You will act as the main escalation point for operational issues while also driving efficiency, training new staff, and implementing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities of Freight Operations Supervisor- Supervise and support the operational team in daily activities.
- Serve as the escalation point for client issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Maintain high service levels and identify areas for improvement.
- Investigate and analyse operational failures, implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and mentor team members, encouraging professional growth.
- Identify and implement new procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Spot potential sales opportunities and liaise with the relevant teams.
- Assist the Operations Manager with various strategic and operational initiatives.
About You- 3-5 years of supervisory experience within a small to medium-sized freight forwarding company.
- Strong knowledge of Air, Sea, and Road Import & Export operations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
- Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Organised, proactive, and confident in making operational improvements.
- Willingness to check emails and monitor operations out of hours when required.
- AEO knowledge and experience is highly desirable.
