Our client are a leading distributor who, due to continued growth & expansion are looking to add a Business Development Manager to their growing Sales team.

The Role
Joining as a Business Development Manager, you will work within the sales function, reporting into the Sales Director. This role will be a hybrid/field based role with a combination of new business generation & account development.
You will work in partnership with an internal sales executive, who will assist with appoint making.
Your main tasks will be:
- Sales Visits: Meet with customers to showcase our catalogue, understand their current needs, provide quotations, and close orders.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Identify and record opportunities, manage the pipeline, and deliver weekly reports.
- Sales Management: Guide the BDE in scheduling appointments and contacting customers. Serve as the BDE’s line manager, conducting monthly 1:1 performance reviews and assessing training needs.
- Communication: Ensure that the EA, Operations, and team are aware of issues, opportunities, and relevant news.
- Identifying Opportunities: Add new prospects to the database and discover opportunities within the territory through visuals and referrals.
- Teamwork: Respond to requests from the Account Manager to meet customers and achieve face-to-face objectives.
- Innovation: Evaluate market needs and provide feedback to the Marketing team.
What We Are Looking For
The successful Business Development Manager should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in field sales. ideally you will be/have:
- Proven experience in a new business and/or account development role
- Experience working in a field based position
- Ideally have experience of mentoring and/or managing more junior members of staff.
- Commercial awareness - knowledge of company direction and targets.
- Speed: Act with urgency on all orders, emails, quotes, and visits.
- Quality: Ensure excellence in every customer interaction. If quality falls short, respond immediately to restore customer confidence.
- Trust: Build and maintain trustworthy relationships with stakeholders.
- Integrity: Communicate truthfully and fulfil all commitments.
- Persistence: Demonstrate a never-give-up attitude while understanding when to draw the line. Stay persistent until the goal is achieved.

The Package
Our client is offering the Business Development Manager a generous basic salary of £53,000-£58,000 (DOE) + Bonus . In addition you would receive:
