Accounts Payable Team Leader required for a new ongoing temporary opportunity working for a well established business based in Birmingham City Centre.

This role is to start immediately, you must be available to start asap to be considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the accounts payable team, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
Allocate tasks and manage workload within the team to ensure timely processing of invoices.
Oversee the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Resolve discrepancies related to invoice payments and liaise with suppliers to address any issues.
Maintain positive relationships with vendors, ensuring clear communication regarding payment schedules and resolving any disputes.
Negotiate payment terms and manage vendor queries effectively.
Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts payable balances with supplier statements.
Prepare and review accounts payable reports for management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
Identify opportunities for process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable function.
Implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline accounts payable processes.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations.
Conduct regular audits of accounts payable processes to identify and mitigate risks.
Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and finance, to ensure smooth end-to-end processing of transactions.
Participate in projects that impact the accounts payable function, providing insights and support as needed.

Key Requirements :

Previous experience in Accounts Payable Team Leader role preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
Excellent data entry and organisational skills
