About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CDM (Construction Design & Management) Principal Designer & Advisor to join the Health & Safety team. This role will be based at the new Manchester office, with projects delivered across Manchester and Birmingham. There is also potential for hybrid working.

The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of projects, including:
✔ Local Authorities
✔ Housing Associations
✔ Blue Light Services
✔ Education & Commercial Sectors
✔ New Build, Retrofit & Refurbishment
✔ Cyclical Repairs & Maintenance

Key Responsibilities

* Conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations.

* Monitoring key project gateways and reviewing essential documentation such as Risk & Method Statements, Operations & Maintenance Manuals, and Health & Safety files.

* Working across RIBA Stages 1-6, providing expert CDM advisory services throughout project lifecycles.

* Collaborating with the Head of Construction Design & Management to deliver a high-quality, tailored service to clients.

* Ensuring all work aligns with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:
✅ Proven experience in a CDM role across sectors such as Blue Light, Commercial, and New Build.
✅ A strong understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations and industry best practices.
✅ Experience in producing Design Risk Registers and other key CDM documentation.
✅ The ability to lead projects from inception to completion as a CDM Principal Designer & Advisor.
✅ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
