1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Croydon

Academics are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a fantastic Mainstream Primary School in Croydon and provide individualised support to a pupil with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Croydon

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting learning activities to meet their individual needs
• Assist the class teacher with differentiated learning tasks and activities
• Support the child's social, emotional, and academic development
• Help manage any challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner
• Promote independence and encourage the child's engagement in classroom activities
• Monitor and report on the pupil's progress to teachers and parents
• Work with the SENCO and other specialists to implement strategies outlined in the pupil's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) or individual support plan
• Ensure the pupil's safety and well-being throughout the school day

Requirements: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Croydon

• Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN (preferred but not essential)
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children's learning
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with both pupils and staff
• The ability to work flexibly as part of a team and independently
• A proactive and supportive attitude to help students overcome barriers to learning
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training provided)
