Accounts Administrator
Redbourn - office based with parking
£30k depending on experience plus healthcare
Our client is a well-established construction business with a small finance team based in Redbourn. We are supporting them recruit an experienced Accounts Administrator to join them on a full time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be studying their AAT and have experience in CIS, although this is not essential.
Role and Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Reconcile bank statements and address any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
• Prepare and send updated debtors lists to senior managers for review on a weekly basis.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any inconsistencies effectively.
• Ensured compliance with CIS by verifying subcontractor details, calculating deductions.
• Update internal spreadsheets for debtors and fuel expenses, allocating fuel costs to the appropriate departments.
• Perform credit card analysis and post transactions to the ledger accurately.
• Maintain a clear and organized inbox, addressing and resolving all queries daily.
• Handle utility bills, penalty charge notices (PCNs), and any related inquiries efficiently.
• Assist with external audit, providing necessary documentation and information.
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required such as PO’s.Education
• Minimum GCSE C grade Maths and English
• Minimum AAT Level 2
• Desirable AAT Level 3 and/or Level 4
• Desirable ACCA
• Desirable CIMA
• Desirable CPAExperience
• Proven experience in an accounts administration role or similar
• Familiarity with accounting Software (e.g., Xero) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Expertise in Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) compliance and reportingPreferred Skills
