A new opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Financial Controller to join a rapid-growth real estate SME and support it's expansion and growth plan.

Client Details

My client is well funded and operates within the real estate/construction space. Based in central Leeds they are now going through an aggressive expansion plan. As a result of this growth, an opportunity for additional resource has arisen.

Description

The Financial Controller will have responsibility for the following:

Overall responsibilities include the day-to-day running of the finance function. Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Managing and overseeing the finance team including recruitment and performance management
  • Manage and support month-end close procedures
  • Timely and accurately prepare and/or review financial statements for assigned group of entities
  • Liaising with others in preparing annual tax returns and VAT returns
  • Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts plus commentary
  • Liaising with external auditors
  • Cashflow management and forecasting
  • Consolidation of reports
  • Other ad-hoc projects and reporting as assigned

Profile

To be considered for this Financial Controller position, you should have the following:

  • Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Must have lead/managed people before
  • Experience within property and housing sector desirable but not essential
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially MS Excel) and finance software.

Job Offer

An attractive salary package ranging between £70,000 and £90,000 depending on experience + benefits & hybrid working (3 days typically in the office per week)
