Job Description

Role Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Business Controller to join our team in the UK. The Business Controller will play a key role in overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial guidance and support to the business and branch managers and become a trusted financial partner. Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Active participation in controlling the financial performance of the business operations, including monitoring and analysing performance and budgets, assisting with tenders and pricing, generation and follow up on financial reports including relevant KPIs for each business, providing insights and recommendations for business improvement.
  • Involvement in all areas of remit of the UK Financial Services department to include Management & external reporting, forecasting & budgeting, financial risk & controls, Taxation, Treasury, systems implementation, financial training, acquisitions, integrations, audit, project financial evaluation and procurement and all other related areas that may become under the control of the department.
  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in a financial leadership role, preferably within a multi-site and multidisciplined organisation.
  • Strong technical expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and standards
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • An appreciation of standard commercial contracts, pricing models and accounting standards.
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and the importance of applying set procedures in the area of Financial Control while working to tight deadlines.
