Our client, a leading brand of farmed Scottish Salmon is looking for a new Hygiene and Auxiliary Supervisor to join their dynamic team in Dingwall. The role involves overseeing all aspects of sanitation and hygiene within the food processing site, ensuring compliance with regulations, food safety standards and internal quality requirements. The role also involves supervising the hygiene team, developing them, protocols and continuously striving to improve hygiene practices onsite.

The hours:

This role operates Tuesday - Saturday 06:00-14:30, for a total of 40 hours/week.

The responsibilities:

* Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive hygiene and sanitation programs in accordance with legal and industry standards.

* Plan and schedule cleaning activities, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.

* Manage the cleaning chemical supply orders to ensure adequate stock levels and sufficient equipment and personal protective equipment.

* Lead, supervise, and mentor the hygiene team and yard team ensuring effective performance and high standards of cleanliness.

* Raising awareness about food safety and hygiene best practices to hygiene operatives.

* Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any gaps through coaching or additional training.

* Ensure cleaning practices comply with food safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards (HACCP/GMP/BRCGS).

* Investigate and resolve any hygiene-related incidents or non-conformities, ensuring timely reporting and corrective actions.

* Maintain accurate documentation of cleaning activities, training sessions, and compliance audits.

* Identify potential hygiene and sanitation risks and implement effective control measures to mitigate them.

* Work closely with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to align hygiene practices with operational needs.

* Stay updated on industry trends and innovations, introducing improvements to hygiene processes and systems.

* Drive initiatives to improve efficiency and sustainability in hygiene practices.

The requirements:

* Proven experience in hygiene or sanitation management within a food processing or manufacturing environment.

* Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP and BRCGS.

* Familiarity with chemical cleaning agents, equipment, and sanitation practices.

* Leadership and team management skills.

* Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

* Demonstrating the competent application of good manufacturing practices required to consistently operate to high standards of food quality and food safety.

* Complying with Company hygiene policies and procedures when undertaking operations while maintaining high standards of personal hygiene.

* Monitoring and recording quality and good safety performance where applicable.
