Job Opportunity: Sixth Form Learning Mentor

Job Purpose: Dunbar Education is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly effective individual to become a Sixth Form Learning Mentor at a SEN school located in Amersham. This role is ideally suited to a recent graduate looking to enter the teaching profession and/or work in education. The successful candidate will work with post-16 students to support their learning, helping them maximize their chances of finding employment and developing both their academic and wider skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a role model and mentor for learners, implementing and monitoring strategies to raise aspirations and attainment in students, and encouraging progression to higher education and beyond.
Have knowledge of current career options for students and first-hand knowledge of the UCAS application process.
Plan and implement various learning strategies to support students in achieving their potential.
Develop good relationships with all students by establishing a positive, professional presence within the Sixth Form and responding appropriately to individual needs.
Encourage the development of academic skills through targeted support and guidance.
Assist students in developing employability skills and preparing for the job market.Qualifications and Experience:

Recent graduate, ideally with a strong academic record.
Aspiring to enter the teaching profession or work in education.
Knowledge of current career options and the UCAS application process.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and implement effective learning strategies.
A proactive and positive approach to supporting students and helping them achieve their goals.Position Details:
