We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our reception class team. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. This long-term supply role offers a great opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum within the reception class.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and preparing activities and materials that support early learning.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to monitor the progress of children and provide feedback.
  • Help to create a safe, nurturing environment that stimulates and encourages learning among the children.
  • Engage with children in both one-to-one and group settings, facilitating educational play and learning activities.
  • Assist with the supervision of children during class, breaks, and lunchtimes.
  • Contribute to the assessment and observation processes to track children’s development.
  • Support children with special educational needs, under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an early years setting.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with young children.
  • A patient, caring, and creative approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
