Job Advert: School Kitchen Assistant - Primary School

Location: South Yorkshire
Pay: £13.00 - £13.50 per hour
Hours: 25 - 37.5 hours per week (Term time only)

Role Overview:

Provide Education is seeking experienced Kitchen Assistants to join the catering team at a local primary school in South Yorkshire. You will help prepare hot and cold meals, maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, and assist with special events. School experience is not required, but prior experience in a kitchen setting is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist with the preparation of meals to the required standard and on time

* Keep work areas clean and tidy, especially at the end of the day

* Help with menu planning, ordering, and receiving deliveries

* Support in organising and preparing for school functions or events (occasional out-of-hours)

* Clean the school kitchen and assist in other areas of the school when needed

* Attend meetings and training sessions as required

Skills and Qualifications:

* Experience in a catering environment (school, residential, healthcare, etc.)

* Good communication, literacy, and numeracy skills

* Knowledge of kitchen equipment, cleaning schedules, and health & safety regulations (COSHH, manual handling, food hygiene)

* Ability to work proactively and manage multiple requests daily

* Flexible, with a proactive approach to identifying and reporting issues
