Fostering Social Worker - Connected Carers - Medway

Our Client, Medway Council, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Connected Carer to join our Children's Services. As a Connected Worker - Fostering, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality and effective professional casework services, ensuring the well-being and safety of vulnerable children and families in Medway.

Main Purpose of Job:

Provide a high-quality casework service, managing a caseload and working within appropriate supervision frameworks.
Support foster carers, children, and families to ensure the needs of the child remain paramount.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate safeguarding measures based on evidence-based analytical practice.
Adhere to structured time management practices, submitting reports, assessments, and plans within regulated timescales.
Maintain accurate written and computerised records in accordance with procedures and legislative responsibilities.
Coordinate and take a lead role in multi-professional/agency groups and professional meetings.
Demonstrate competence in all areas of the PCF at Social worker level and The Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) for approved child and family practitioners.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

A recognised professional Social Work Qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
Successful completion of ASYE year.
Working towards Practice Educator Professional Standards (Desirable).
Registration with Social Work England.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and families (required for experienced social worker level).
Proven experience in using 'Signs of Safety' or willingness to be trained.
Demonstrable experience in relationship and strengths-based practice, collaborating with children, young people, and families.
Demonstrable safeguarding/child protection experience.
Experience in direct work with children and young people.
Experience working within the framework of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including court reports and oral evidence.
Proven experience in one or more areas of specialist social work practice (experienced social worker level only).

Personal Qualities:

Possession of a car and valid driver's license for business purposes.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
Commitment to individual and reflective supervision.
Understanding of Social Work England's professional standards and commitment to upholding them.
Enhanced DBS check.

Working Style:

The workstyle for this role is assessed as 'Hybrid.' The post holder will have a flexible workstyle, with the ability to work from various locations. Office-based work for a minimum of two days per week is expected.
