Product Management Manager

Our Product team are hiring and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Product Management Manager to build & shape the Payroll Managed Services offering, and IRIS’s go forward HCM solutions - Staffology Bureau, Staffology HR and Every HR.
This role will be responsible and accountable for part of the Software & Service roadmap ensuring it aligns with the overarching IRIS strategic HCM roadmap of development and migration from heritage platforms, while delivering short-term tactical improvements to customers & colleagues alike.
You will be responsible for articulating the commercial prioritisation of the backlog, creating business cases for larger initiatives & developments, and managing a team of Product Owners/Managers that own strategic functions within the Managed Service delivery.
The role also requires you to ensure the product & value proposition meets the needs of the customer within a competitive marketplace, alongside working with operational & finance stakeholders to define the service levels & pricing are balanced to deliver value & return to both the customers and shareholders.
What will you be doing?
- Liaise with key stakeholders to ascertain priorities for development
- In conjunction with product owners, document top-level requirements to enable engineering to create t-shirt sizing with detailed effort & costs
- Road mapping future engineering work, based on the above priorities, sizing and costings - to deliver maximum return on investment
- Continually challenge stakeholders on short-term disposable vs long-term strategic development within heritage platforms & the wider IRIS HCM function
- With Product Owners, create detailed & articulate bugs, stories, features and EPICs via JIRA & DevOps to allow engineering to understand & refine tickets
- Maintain the Priority List via Jira & DevOps to enable sprint planning via engineering
- working closely with the Product & Operational Directors in the shaping and delivery of the managed service offering
- To work with customers and colleagues via commercial and operational stakeholders to understand their short-term immediate needs and long-term aspirations to prioritise for the product, service, or technology roadmap/s
- To understand the market and competitors and seek out enhancements to give the payroll & HR service solution a competitive advantage.
- Manage the internal stakeholders across sales, marketing, support, legal, compliance, professional services, and engineering
- Keep a regular pulse check with customers / prospect via shadowing sales conversations, creating & hosting user-groups and conducting insight surveys
- Support the creation & maintenance of sales enablement collateral such as proposal documentation, sales presenters and brochureware.
- Ensuring that our marketing articulates the value proposition of our managed service solutions to drive increased MQLs
- Maintaining contractual suite & solution descriptions for our managed services propositions
- Maintaining the front-book commercials & rate-card/s alongside operational and finance stakeholders
What are we seeking?
- Background must include product management with payroll. The ability to work within a wider product team to ensure payroll product is compliant and fits in with the wider business strategy.
- Experience of working within product or dev management roles within UK payroll, with a good knowledge of payroll & HR processes/legislation
- Passion for technology and a drive to find the best solution
- Passion for people and establishing motivated, highly driven teams: caring about process, quality, setting and managing expectations
- Understanding of modern lean agile software development processes
- Experience of working with Key stakeholders to agree the roadmap deliverables, such as engineering, operations, finance & Professional Services
- Experience of competitive analysis and understanding the market
- Excellent analytical skills for establishing market trends by assessing multiple data points.
