Job Description

Job Purpose

The main purpose of the role will be to help manage the day-to-day administration for the fundraising function as well as delivering strong supporter stewardship. The Fundraising Assistant will also take a lead role in managing the Charitable Fund's challenge event portfolio and will support individual fundraisers and donors. The role may also include some management of volunteers.

The Fundraising Officer position is a critical role to support the Fundraising Manager in the effective development and smooth running of the fundraising function at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Charitable Fund so that ultimately unrestricted funds can be maximised.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Work with the Fundraising Manager to ensure effective donor stewardship of individual supporters - ensure that the Fundraising database (CRM System) is always kept up to date.
2. Work with the Fundraising Manager to define and action effective supporter journeys in accordance with their identity / motivation, increasing the lifetime value of supporters.
3. Assist the Fundraising Manager in segmenting the Fundraising database for events, mailings, prospect and pipeline research.
4. Provide outstanding supporter care to challenge and individual event participants ensuring their experience of engaging with the charity exceeds expectations.
5. Work with the Fundraising Manager to plan a programme of third-party challenge events throughout the year that staff, patients, family members, corporates and the general public can participate in.
6. Work collaboratively with the Communications team to ensure an effective marketing and communications plan is in place to help promote the charity's third-party challenge events programme as well as to create engaging content that advertises the charity, its offers and its impact to new audiences.
7. Recruit third party event participants through a variety of warm and cold acquisition methods.
8. To take responsibility for recruiting new and existing supporters into challenge events, fundraising campaigns, specific appeals and volunteering roles.
9. Assist the Fundraising Manager in ensuring that all fundraising literature (including legacies) is kept well stocked across the hospital sites.
10. Liaise with staff across the Trust to ensure that the tap and donate points are fully functioning and positioned in high footfall places at all times.
11. Where necessary, ensure the safe collection, transportation and depositing of donations made on or off site in accordance with standard procedures.
12. Keep records of placement of collection tins within the surrounding areas and liaise with volunteers regarding their collection and replacement.
13. Manage approaches to corporates for in-kind support when required.
14. Purchase items required for fundraising activities, maintaining within budget.
15. Day-to-day management and delegation of tasks to volunteers as needed.

Details of Special Conditions: the role will occasionally entail working at events and representing the charitable fund at community events during evenings / weekends.

Skills:
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with high level of accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise workloads to deliver required outcomes according to deadlines
• Excellent IT skills across all MS office and windows platforms
