Job Summary:
Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Clinical Lead to join the team at a small yet vibrant nursing home specializing in the care of younger adults with complex needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and degenerative neurological disorders. This is a dual role combining hands-on clinical care with supernumerary responsibilities, making it ideal for an experienced nursing professional looking to blend clinical practice with leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality clinical care to residents, ensuring that their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met with compassion and expertise.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans tailored to each resident's unique needs.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor resident health, ensuring timely intervention when necessary.
• Support and mentor nursing and care staff, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including therapists, physicians, and social workers, to deliver holistic care.
Supernumerary Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the clinical team, ensuring that all staff adhere to best practices and maintain the highest standards of care.
• Oversee the training and development of nursing staff, identifying skill gaps and arranging appropriate training sessions.
• Monitor and evaluate clinical practices, implementing improvements where necessary to enhance care quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with CQC and other regulatory bodies.
• Act as a point of escalation for clinical issues, providing guidance and support to staff in complex or challenging situations.
• Participate in management meetings, contributing to the strategic direction of the nursing home.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC Pin.
• Significant clinical experience, ideally within a nursing home or similar setting, with a focus on younger adults with complex needs.
• Strong leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing and developing clinical teams.
• In-depth knowledge of caring for individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and degenerative neurological disorders.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.
