A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Transport Manager / HGV driver to join this national distributor of products for the construction industry. In this role you will be taking responsibility for the operations team, managing a small team of Drivers and yard / warehouse staff and doing some deliveries around the North Wales Cheshire area.

The role
Supporting with the site health and safety, logistics, order fulfilment and business procedures.
Driving operational excellence to achieve continuous improvement in standards of customer service and the delivery of materials is made at the most effective cost to serve the customers.
Supervising a small team of Drivers and Warehouse staff, motivating, coaching, and developing the team to maintain the safe and efficient working environment.
Ensuring a safety first environment to ensure both customers and staff are free from accidents
Ensuring transport legal compliance is maintained and that all the drivers work correct hours and breaks as per legislation
Making sure all vehicles and equipment on site is maintained to ensure fit for purpose
Occasional deliveries in Wrexham and surrounding area as required

Experience required
HGV, class 2 licence essential
Some supervisory experience in a transport / logistics environment
Experience of managing and motivating a small team
Experience of planning, organise and prioritising workloads
Knowledge of transport legislation and experience of working with drivers an advantage
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and practice
Good interpersonal and influencing skills
