The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Project Surveyor to join our clients team in Leicestershire. Working for a leader in its field working alongside some of the UK's most reputable designers, architects and contractors. This role is perfect for someone eager to take on a rewarding challenge and grow within a supportive company environment. As part of the Commercial and Estimating team you'll be responsible for the financial management, control, and reporting of various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Oversight: Review project financials and prepare initial cash flow projections.
• Quotation Analysis: Assess and analyse quotations from installation teams.
• Budget Management: Monitor material and subcontract expenditures to ensure they align with set budgets.
• Scope Variations: Identify, price, and justify variations and changes to project scope.
• Payment Processing: Prepare and submit monthly payment applications.
• Final Account Management: Promptly agree on final accounts upon project completion.
• Contractual Issue Resolution: Address and resolve contractual and commercial matters.
• Retention Management: Track and chase outstanding retentions in line with subcontract orders.
• Project Accounting: Maintain up-to-date project accounts and keep clients well-informed.
• Profit Maximization: Collaborate with the project delivery team to maximize project profitability.

Key Qualities:
• Methodical & Numerically Proficient: Ability to handle tasks with a structured and precise approach.
• Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, striving for accuracy and high-quality output.
• Conscientious: A diligent and responsible work ethic.
• Effective Communicator: Excellent communication skills with the ability to think on your feet.
• Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in negotiating and securing favourable outcomes.
• IT Proficiency: Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, are a must.
• Approachable & Professional: Ability to handle queries with professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
• Client Management & Sales: Skilled in managing client relationships and generating sales opportunities as needed.
• Industry Experience: A background in joinery is preferred
