We're working with one of East Anglia's most respected and fast-growing contractors to recruit an Assistant Estimator. The Role - What You'll Be Doing

As an Assistant Estimator, you'll work alongside senior estimators and the pre-construction team, learning how to price projects and develop competitive tenders. The role will involve:

* Tender Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of accurate and competitive tender submissions for projects valued between £5-10 million

* Cost Analysis: Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and BOQs to assess material, labour, and subcontractor costs

* Quantity Take-Offs: Measuring and pricing various project elements using digital tools

* Supplier & Subcontractor Liaison: Gathering quotes, negotiating pricing, and building relationships

* Value Engineering: Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality

* Bid Documentation: Contributing to tender submissions, presentations, and contract negotiations

* Learning from Experts: Receiving structured training and mentorship to develop your technical and commercial skills

What We're Looking For

* We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who wants to build a long-term career in estimating. Whether you're currently working as a Trainee/Junior Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or in a commercial construction role, this position will offer the training and development you need to step up.

* Experience: Some exposure to estimating or commercial roles in construction is beneficial but not essential

* Qualifications: A relevant degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred but not required

* Skills: Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

* Attention to Detail: Ability to work methodically and accurately with figures and documentation

* Proactive Approach: Eager to learn, develop, and take on responsibility

* Communication Skills: Ability to liaise confidently with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
