1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: AigburthStart Date: September 2024Type: Full-Time
This supportive and inclusive primary school in Aigburth is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a child with various Special Educational Needs (SEN). This full-time position will begin in September 2024 and offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on a child's educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a specific student with SEN, including academic assistance, emotional support, and behavior management.
- Implement and adapt individualised education plans (IEPs) to meet the student's unique needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff to ensure the student's progress and well-being.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and document the student's progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and parents.
- Support the student during classroom activities, break times, and extracurricular activities as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Previous experience working with SEN children is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
