Our client is seeking an ICT Consultant with a real flair for technology and a passion for providing exemplary service to customers. The role involves supporting schools in and around Swindon.

You will be responsible for maintaining all IT hardware and services across the school sites, as well as assisting the schools in improving their ICT provisions. Your role will enable the schools to deliver effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions.

You will act as a liaison between the schools and our client, ensuring they are kept up to date with the services our client can offer, and managing the accounts of your customers. You will be skilled in maintaining school computer equipment, installing new and existing software across networks, providing technical support to users, and resolving identified technical problems. A good knowledge of common user applications and experience with Microsoft Office 365 is essential.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a previous ICT Technician or 2nd line support role, preferably within the education sector, although this is not essential.

You should be passionate about IT, have a strong technical background, and be self-motivated with a commitment to excellent customer service. This role demands a team player with strong communication and organisational skills, a courteous manner, and the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Resolving and managing technical issues that impact the school's operations by providing robust technical solutions.
  • Installing or repairing computers with standardised applications and networking software, diagnosing, and solving operational problems.
  • Responding to a wide range of technical tasks associated with the computer network and desktop services, primarily in connection with existing installations and their upgrades. (Including desktop computers, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, PA equipment, AV lecterns, and hardware.)

This is a full-time, year-round position. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.
