SEN Teaching Assistant - September 2025 Start

We're looking for a caring, committed, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school community in Kingston this September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely wants to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and help them thrive both academically and personally.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the classroom, supporting pupils with a range of needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), dyslexia, and other learning differences. Working alongside experienced educators, you'll help tailor learning experiences, build students' confidence, and create a nurturing environment where every child can flourish.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN
Assist teachers with planning and adapting lessons to meet individual needs
Support students with communication, personal care, social interaction, and emotional well-being
Encourage the development of key skills in literacy, numeracy, and life skills
Monitor progress and share insights with teaching staff and families
Help create a calm, inclusive, and inspiring learning space

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience working with children with SEN (ideal but not essential)
A nurturing, patient, and positive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or 3) is a plus
A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
