We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SENCO to join our vibrant primary school in Chesterfield. Our school includes a nursery and an Integrated Resource Unit that supports children with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and experienced professional to make a real difference in the lives of primary-aged children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the school's Special Educational Needs provision.
- Work closely with the Integrated Resource Unit to support children with complex needs, including those with challenging behaviour.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils.
- Develop and implement strategies to address the challenges faced by children with additional needs.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive practices and SEND-related matters.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- National Award for SEN Coordination (SENCO Qualification).
- Extensive understanding of the challenges faced by primary-aged children with additional needs, including those with behavioural difficulties.
- A proven track record of working with children with SEND, demonstrating empathy, resilience, and strong leadership skills.
