We are seeking a Accounts Assistant to join our client's team and collaborate with various internal departments. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining accurate financial records. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our financial data.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Review and verify the accuracy of descriptions for sales products and other sales items.
  • Maintain the SAP Item Master Database, ensuring it is current with the latest item lists.
  • Align production data with shop floor activities and fields.
  • Verify commodity codes for export shipments are correctly filled in.
  • Ensure all hazardous/chemical details in Q&A data are accurate for freight and health & safety compliance.
  • Monitor purchase data to ensure correct lead times on MRP for accurate forecasting.
  • Assist with managing Purchase and Sales Ledgers, including posting entries, reconciling ledgers, and generating reports.
  • Manage corporate credit card expenses, ensuring timely upload and accurate coding to cost centers.
  • Review and distribute cost center reports to internal departments.
  • Assist with cash flow analysis, including reconciling cash book and preparing cash flow reports.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • GCSEs in Mathematics and English are essential.
  • An accounting qualification is desirable.
  • Training will be provided, but previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar position is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SAP is desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Active listening and effective thinking skills.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-starter with the capacity to learn new processes quickly.
