Assistant Accountant - Sales Ledger

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Orka are working with a fast growing company based in Rickmansworth, who are looking for an Assistant Accountant that will have a focus on the Sales Ledger to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their career in finance within a supportive and fast-paced environment. Alongside the Sales Ledger work the role will offer exposure to duties across the finance function offering a great opportunity for some looking to build a well rounded skillset.

Responsibilities:


• Help evaluating potential customers’ credit history, financial stability, and creditworthiness before extending credit and recommending appropriate credit limits for new and existing customers based on risk assessments.
• Tracking outstanding invoices and monitoring the age of receivables to ensure timely collection.
• Preparation of regular aging reports to highlight overdue accounts and potential risks
• Work Closely with customers and other departments to resolve and invoice queries.
• Develop relationships with Customers to encourage prompt payment.
• Accurate recording of transaction within Sage
• Produce projects and service dept invoicing for Multiple entities.
• Invoice Preparation: Generate and issue invoices to customers based on service agreements, Payment Certificate and sales orders.
• Data Entry: Accurately enter invoice information into the accounting system.
• Verify Transactions: Review invoices for completeness and accuracy, ensuring that all necessary information is included.
• Load Invoicing to Customer Portals where required
• Dispute Resolution: Address and resolve any discrepancies or disputes related to billing.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and accurate records of all invoices
• Compliance: Ensure all invoicing procedures comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with Departments: Work closely with other departments, such as Sales and Customer Service, to ensure accurate billing information and customer satisfaction.

Profile:


• Robust Experience in Accounts Administration
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Understand Business Accounts knowledge of Sage Line 50
• Ability to work on your own without supervision and as part of small team
• Excellent numeracy skills & accuracy of input
• Ability to spot financial discrepancies.
• Ability to work to deadlines
• The ability to work with initiative and confidence

Salary:

£30,000 - £35,000 + benefits
