Purpose of the role
To proactively coordinate and assist in the successful implementation of the Heidelberg Materials UK national RAP strategy. This role will focus on three specific areas of responsibility.
Coordination of compliance, governance, and systems management - 50%
Analysis and reporting of Hanson UK RAP objectives - 20%
Proactive engagement with contractors, suppliers, and customers (internal & external) - 30%
This role will work within a fun agile team with a strategic focus on maximizing the sustainable use of RAP, whilst enhancing the asphalt circular economy. This role and wider RAP team will be fully integrated and aligning to the Hanson UK asphalt business, and play a key role in advising, recommending, and implementing future strategic objectives.
Key accountabilities
Manage and administrate new supply vendors, and carry out relevant compliance audits
Work closely with both the UK National Supply Chain Manager and RAP Manager to monitor activity in the RAP market to maximize our position
Work closely with operational staff to ensure all system administration processes are completed correctly and on time.
Engage with existing and new customers using multiple communication channels, including social media.
Respond and manage invoice queries from supply chain to ensure timely resolution of payments.
When requested create ad-hoc reports.
Be actively involved in the preparation of monthly budgets, forecast and activity reports.
Research and collate market information using multiple channels, including digital ones.
Prepare and submit RAP quotations to suppliers
Offer support and telephone contact service to contractors, suppliers, and customers (internal & external)
Supplier Data and communication management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with in house and external logistics colleagues to maximise the use of the Hanson haulage fleet.
This role is primarily desk-based (a typical minimum of 80% desk-based) with a potential requirement to make visits to supplier offices or sites when there is a business requirement.
Collaborate with asphalt sales teams and Contracting staff to identify prospective new customers and schemes.
Proactively promote a positive and enthusiastic RAP culture across all channels

Experience
Preferable experience within the road maintenance, asphalt supply, logistics, recycling or environmental management industry.
Education/Qualification
Education - GCSE, A Level, BTEC, NVQ, QCF or equivalent
University Degree Level - Preferable
WAMITAB, EPOC or equivalent environmental qualifications - Preferable
