Sussex

Remuneration: £4000 p.a. (1.5 days per month commitment)

Are you a qualified accountant looking for a chance to bring your knowledge and expertise to a Board role?

Worthing Homes, a successful and high performing Housing Association in Sussex, is seeking a finance professional to join to their Board following the end of tenure of the previous incumbent. With over 4,000 homes in the Sussex coastal area and a keen development program, they are committed to delivering first-class customer services and investing in their homes and communities. Your knowledge and expertise will provide financial scrutiny and guidance to ensure the ongoing success of the organisation

The role

As a Board Member, you will work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to support the delivery of their ambitious corporate plan and business transformation program. With increasing challenges faced by the sector, you will make a real difference in the provision of housing and a range of customer services to their communities on the South coast.

The diverse Board operates in a respectful and collaborative manner, benefitting from the skillset and expertise of each Board member and provides clear support and guidance to the wider organisation.

Who they're looking for

They are specifically looking for a qualified accountant to complement the existing Board skillset. You will be able to demonstrate sound judgement and give confidence to the Board on financial matters. Whilst an understanding of the housing sector is advantageous, more important is a passion for working with customers and communities, and balancing social purpose with commercial efficiency.

Diversity

Worthing Homes is an equal opportunities employer and values the unique contributions of each individual.

More information

Time commitment and location: In a 12-month period, the role requires a time commitment of approximately 1.5 days per month, with meetings hosted 'in person' at their office in central Worthing (meetings are currently held in the evening).
