Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Geography specialist to lead our Geography Department and drive the strategic direction of the Trust. This dual role combines leadership of a high-performing department with the opportunity to influence the wider school community and our partner schools within the Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Geography Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging Geography curriculum that inspires students.
Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to inform interventions and support.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Provide professional development and mentoring for Geography staff.
Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the strategic direction of the Trust.
Promote and support environmental education and sustainability initiatives across the Trust.
Engage with stakeholders, including parents, governors, and external partners.
Person Specification:

A degree in Geography or a related field, with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
Proven experience in teaching Geography at secondary school level.
Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of improving student outcomes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to fostering a love of learning and environmental awareness.
Ability to think strategically and contribute to the overall vision of the Trust.
Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
A collaborative and inclusive approach to leadership.
